laterz summer.

Summer is over (I know this because I have a stinking cold and have engaged in my annual binge of Gilmore Girls) and I am a different person. The advantage of spending all summers at festivals is that you get to experience micro-worlds of all different varieties and people. Whilst punk festivals are always my fave because so many of my friends are there either as punters, crew or artists and it’s just a lovely reminder of the community that we are constantly building. But this year because I was promoting my book I was booked for more festivals, of which were vibrant, different and gave me some wonderful experiences that have perhaps changed my perception of some things for the better. I feel that I have come out the other side with more tools to help me through. I am very conscious of sounding too much like the hippies I’ve spent my summer with but I just wanted to note how grateful I am for my life and the things I get to do, supported by so many great people.

So thanks everyone who I have met and hung out with this summer, I feel refreshed (even with a terrific head cold) and although a bit dislocated and addled from all the partying, I feel a bit braver. I’m actually currently looking for my lost power, have you seen it?

I’ll be looking for it at my upcoming gigs and as of today, in Star’s Hollow. #StarsHollowHeals (I’ll be live tweeting some of my favourite episodes as I go along if you want to check out my twitter for that.) Now, settle in and listen to Lorelei.
